Our website includes social media features, such as ‘retweet’ and ‘share’ buttons and widgets and interactive programmes that sometimes run on the website.  These features may collect your IP address, the page you are visiting and may enable a cookie to run the feature effectively. The social media functionality is either hosted by a third party or directly on our website. The privacy statement of the third-party company governs interactions with these features.


What data we collect through our website

Below is an overview of the personal data that we may collect, use, retain and share:


  • Personal contact details - Name, organisation, job title, email address, postal address and telephone number.


This data will be used to send you news, details about events or to send you relevant marketing materials either via email, post or telephone, for example if you decide to trial our support service or express an interest in our services. We will also use your contact details to measure our marketing performance. This information will be shared with our marketing platforms (iContact and Mailchimp), our Customer Relationship Management (CRM) software, our webinar providers and website hosting provider. 


  • Information from your web-browser – Browser type and language, your IP address, your internet service provider, date/time stamp and the actions you take on our company website, including the pages you viewed, time spent on these pages and any links clicked.


This data is for analytical purposes to establish an understanding of how visitors explore our company website and the popularity of the pages and their content. This information is held against an IP address, or if a visitor submits contact information to us, this information will be held against this record instead. This data is to help improve our website and its content and is shared with Wix Analytics and Google Analytics. 


  • Personal recommendations/testimonials or endorsements

Any recommendation, testimonial or endorsement that is published on our website is to promote our business and its services. This information is shared with our internal CRM system. 


  • Personal contact details for a job application– Name, email address, postal address and telephone number, CV, your employment history, experience, qualifications in connection with the job application, or a general enquiry regarding any vacancies.


This data is collected to evaluate your job application and to communicate with you regarding the vacancy. The information provided is then shared with our Human Resources (HR) system.


What data we collect in relation to our solutions and services

Below is an overview of the personal data that we may collect, use, retain and share:


  • Contact information  - Name, organisation, job title, email address, postal address and telephone number


This information is so that we can provide customer support, training and gain feedback from customers. The data is shared with our internal Support system and CRM system. 


  • Financial information– Billing name, organisation, direct contact, billing address, credit card number, number of users


This data is collected for invoicing and billing purposes to on-board a new client. The data is then shared with our internal Payment system. 


Third Party Providers

Viewdata may share or transfer personal data to third-party providers that help us to provide our services. This is covered by our contract/service agreement with our customer. 


If you register an interest in software or services with Viewdata, or if you register interest in a jointly promoted service or software, Viewdata may share your personal data collected in connection with your expression of interest in our software or services with the third-party provider or business partner. Viewdata do not control the third-party/business partner use of your personal data and their use of your data will be in accordance with their own privacy policy. If you do not want your personal data to be shared in this way, you may wish to not opt to express an interest in the software or service of a third party/business partner.



We are committed to ensuring that your information is secure. In order to prevent unauthorised access or disclosure, we have put in place suitable physical, electronic and managerial procedures to safeguard and secure the information we collect online.

How we use cookies

Customer provided content

Some of the services that we provide authorise customers to hold content such as images, documents and other digital data, which is then processed and stored by Viewdata.  This content is only accessible by the customer and Viewdata does not utilise this data for any other purpose. Each individual customer is responsible for their own uploaded content, including that content is not inappropriate, unlawful, or that it contains harmful content or viruses. Viewdata may remove customer content from the services. 


Anonymous data collected

Anonymous data collected or generated by the software and services and is not associated or linked to any personal data.  This data does not identify individual people.  We may share anonymous data with business partners/third-party companies for use for their business purposes. 

Controlling your personal information

We understand that you have the right to access your personal information and can request deletion of data, rectification and data portability. Anyone who seeks access to, requests to amend, correct or delete inaccurate data, that Viewdata holds specifically to provide its services, should submit their query to their contact within Viewdata or write to Viewdata Computing Ltd, 9 Brewery Court, Theale, Berkshire, RG7 5AJ.


If a customer requests removal of their personal data, on their behalf, Viewdata will respond to such request within one month. The customer’s right to receive their data is covered by our contract/service agreement with them. 


Privacy and children

The Viewdata website does not offer information intended to attract children and does not knowingly solicit personal data from children under the age of 13. 


Marketing opt-out
If you have previously agreed to us using your personal information for direct marketing purposes, you may change your mind at any time emailing We will respond within one month of your request. Or, alternatively by clicking the unsubscribe link located at the bottom of the company’s emails and newsletters. Customers cannot opt-out of receiving transactional emails relating to their account regarding software, services and products purchased that are required for support and maintenance of these products. 


Your information will be retained and used as necessary to comply with our legal obligations, to resolve any disputes and enforce our agreements and we will only contact you in relation to these items.


We will not sell, distribute or lease your personal information to third parties unless we have your permission or are required by law to do so. We may use your personal information to send you promotional information about third parties that we think you may find interesting if you tell us that you wish this to happen.


Compelled Disclosure

Viewdata reserves the right to use or disclose any information provided, if we are required by law or the company reasonably believes that use or disclosure is necessary to protect our rights, protect your safety, or the safety of others, investigate fraud and/or to comply with judicial proceedings, court orders, legal process or other governmental authority. However, unless prohibited by law, Viewdata will use reasonable efforts to provide you notice to enable you to seek a protective order or take other appropriate action.
